Where the party at?

If TikTok showed moves like this it may have some use. Until then, your time is better spent on something else (like the Word - not the world).

You love a good party, right?

Those shindigs where everyone’s vibing, sharing chips ‘n’ dip, and just plain ol’ getting along?

Pretty sure that’s the definition of VBS as a kid.

Well, the Bible calls it Unity. And God wants this for His church.

But the church has more division than a third grade math class.

We still get shivers just thinkin’ about it, ol’ son!

Here’s the thing:

God loves unity.

And has been rooting for this since, like, forever.

Ephesians 4:13 says, “until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”

You catch that?

The whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Whew that’s some deep end of the pool stuff!

Sure, most churches are about as unified as cats and dogs in a room full of rocking chairs.

Seriously, what are we doing? And what can we do about it?

Never been to seminary, but this seems like a good place to start:

In humility, make every effort to seek unity with your brothers and sisters in Christ.

And before changing the world, start in your own church.

Geronimo, Amen!

Sweet, that’s issue #11 of The Spark. Welcome to the new people who signed up since last week! And huge thanks to everyone who referred a friend. 🙏

This conversation with Francis Chan changed how we think about loving the church (and neighbors). And his thoughts on ‘start with the church’ - golden!
