When serving others, don’t do it if you need something in return.

Imagine baking a batch of brownies for your neighbor going through a rough time. You leave them on their doorstep, feeling all warm and fuzzy… but then you start waiting.

No thank-you note in the mail, no mention at all. Suddenly, that warm feeling? Gone.

Serving isn’t about getting credit. Jesus didn’t say, “Love your neighbor… and make sure they write a Yelp review after.” You are called to love, even when it’s unnoticed.

So, next time you serve, do it for God’s eyes only. Those are the only brownie points that matter.
